Light To The Open Door – Part 5 – Upon The Light Of The Lord Lean And Walk Through The Door Of Your Dreams

Light To The Open Door – Part 5 – Upon The Light Of The Lord Lean And Walk Through The Door Of Your Dreams

In Acts 12:10 the scripture reads “When they were past the first and the second ward, they came unto the iron gate that leadeth unto the city; which opened to them of his own accord: and they went out, and passed on through one street; and forthwith the angel departed from him.” The iron gate in this scripture is a reflection of judgment. Judgment is not a bad thing if people have been doing what they should have been doing. When a person sows good seed they receive a good harvest. However, a person who sows bad seed receives a bad harvest.

I believe in this season we’re going to see spectacular manifestations of the ministry of angels. Within this is included the supernatural deliverance by way of angels. There are going to be spectacular deliverances more than we have ever seen before. Part of the reason for this is because of receiving some of the greatest victories ever seen before. However, the reason why we have the greatest victories we’ve ever seen is because of fighting the greatest fights we’ve ever fought before. Don’t be afraid of the fight, because you’re not going to fight it in your strength as you will fight in the strength of God (Psalm 71:16).

The Points Of Passing

It can be seen in Acts 12:10 that there are three doors of the devil that Peter must pass through. Interestingly, there are three points of passing. The first and second ward and lastly the iron gate are the three points of passing. Notice, there are three doors or passage points guarded by the devil and there were three articles of clothing that the Lord instructed Peter to put on. The devil is the one guarding the doors. The three articles of clothing were the belt, sandals, and the coat. The belt represents the written or logos word of God and the sandals represent the Rhema Word of God. Lastly is the coat that represents authority. It was the coat of authority that opened the last door of iron. The iron door was meant to keep him in order for him to be destroyed the next day. However, the coat of authority empowered him to move through the open door and to continue on his way.

Not only did the angel or light instruct him to put on three articles of clothes, but gave three words of victory as well. The first word was to ‘arise up quickly.’ The next thing the light said was to ‘put your belt on and then to put your shoes on.’ After that, the light said to ‘put your coat on and follow me.’ The light gave him a word for every door and passage point. God has a word for every door that the devil has closed to you.

Peter Went Through The First, Second, And Third Door Because Peter Had A Word From The Lord

What are those doors that Peter went through and how do you gain the victory to go through those doors? We see a tremendous lesson that Peter learned in how to go through those doors from Matthew 17: 17-19 “17 And Jesus answered and said unto him, Blessed art thou, Simon Barjona: for flesh and blood hath not revealed it unto thee, but my Father which is in heaven. 18 And I say also unto thee, That thou art Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it. 19 And I will give unto thee the keys of the kingdom of heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt bind on earth shall be bound in heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven. ”

Jesus asked the disciples who did they say that the son of man is? The disciples answered him but then Peter answers and says that you are the Christ. The Word that God gave Peter is what Satan is testing and trying to steal from Peter (John 10:10). Satan apprehended and placed Peter in a hell on earth, which is represented by the prison. However, Peter had a Rhema Word from the Lord that said the gates of hell shall not prevail. So, Peter went through the first, second, and third door because Peter had a Word from the Lord.

In Matthew 16:19, the scripture records Jesus to say that I will give you the keys to the kingdom. The keys are used to bind and loose things on earth after they have been bound in heaven. If there’s a door that needs to be opened in your life, you have the key from the kingdom to open it. Also, you have keys to unlock doors to set other people free.

The three words given to Peter by the light help us to understand that it’s a process. It will be necessary for people to receive a word and then take a step – receive a second word and then take another step. This is walking by faith. It is a process. Once a person takes a step based on the word that they currently have, they’ll receive the word to take the next future step.

The Great Example

Peter knew how to make it through the door because he had a great example. The great example that Peter had is the example that we have in Jesus. In Luke chapter 4 we see Jesus deal with the devil three times and this helped to provide the example for Peter when he was going to have to go through three of the devil’s doors.  The Holy Spirit led Jesus into the wilderness when He was tempted by Satan. In the process of being led into the wilderness, Jesus was tested. Holy Spirit will lead us into places of testing. Don’t be concerned about the testing but just focus on the steps to take the victory. There are three things that you see Peter do to walk through the devil’s doors and he learned it from Jesus when He was tempted by the enemy.

In the first temptation in the wilderness, Satan tempted Jesus with turning the stone into bread. In Luke 4:4 Jesus said ‘it is written.’ With Jesus saying ‘it is written,’ He is referring to the written or logos Word of God. This parallels exactly with what the light ministered to Peter when he told him to ‘gird thyself’ or to put on his belt. This is holding tight to the truth and this is what Jesus used to defeat Satan in the first temptation.

In the last temptation in Luke 4:12, Satan is tempting Jesus by telling Him to cast Himself down from the pinnacle of the temple to watch the angels protect Him. Satan is misappropriating the Word. Satan is misquoting and misusing the written Word of God in what he shares with Jesus. Here we see Jesus defeat Satan and the method that he uses here is obvious when the scripture reads ‘it is said.’ This expression ‘it is said’ is referring to the Rhema Word of God and that’s how Jesus defeated Satan in this temptation. When the light told Peter to put on his sandals and to tie them on tight, this is standing on the Rhema Word of God. In the same way a person stands on the Rhema Word of God and puts pressure on their shoes, it is necessary to put pressure on the Rhema Word of God.

The second temptation in Luke 4:8 that Jesus defeated Satan was with the strategy of worship. A required method to defeat the enemy is worship. This is warfare worship. An example to illustrate this could be a martial artist who practices different types of forms. The forms are a method of practice and training where the martial artist will throw punches, kicks, and blocks in the air in what may look like a dance. It may look strange when the martial artist is practicing by himself. However, when the martial artists is in a real life combat situation and it’s time to use hand to hand combat from those forms it doesn’t look so strange then. Now, those forms make sense as they are being used to protect and defend the martial artist.

Expressions of thanksgiving, praise, and worship that people use to minister love to the Lord (Hebrews 13:15) as outlined in the scriptures may look strange similar as the martial arts forms but they’re very effective in spiritual warfare worship. Those praise and worship expressions are what open the door for us to cleanse our hearts (Hebrews 10:2). Our hearts must be cleansed so that we hear correctly and begin to move in the direction of the glory. Our thanksgiving, praise, and worship is necessary and it’s beautiful to the Lord because it’s also what is used to defeat the enemy.

Upon The Light Of The Lord Lean And Walk Through The Door Of Your Dreams

In Acts 12:9, it says “And he went out, and followed him; and wist not that it was true which was done by the angel; but thought he saw a vision.” Where it says ‘wist not that it was true which done by the angel’ means that Peter thought he was dreaming. In Acts 12:11, it says ‘And when Peter was come to himself.’ However, right before it says that Peter came to himself, it explains how he came to himself. The scripture says ‘he said.’ The way Peter came to himself was with what he said. It was his saying that opened the door for him to come to himself.

The revelation here is that people begin to realize that they have begun to walk in their dreams. This is the time for people to walk in their dreams. This is the season to move through the door that the devil used to hold you down and keep you back. When you follow the light into your faith attack the devil’s door is moving back. When you step out and do what the Lord has instructed you to do this year you’ll be walking in your dreams. It may be small and a little thing at first, but it will be the first fruit of your dreams. However, it’s only happening for those who believe.

When upon the light of the Lord you lean, then you will walk through the door of your dreams.
