Light To The Open Door – Part 2 – Peter, Prison, and  Warfare Prayer

Light To The Open Door – Part 2 – Peter, Prison, and  Warfare Prayer

It is the desire of the Lord for his people to go free this year.   This is a time of reaping. There is to be much angelic ministry help. Many people will have angels to help them and minister to them in ways people have never experienced before.   The heavy guard in Acts 12: 4 is reflective of heavy demonic attack that is ahead for some people.

Do not be surprised if you hear of people who are attacked on every side. Satanic attack can come from every direction. The enemy will attack them in the area of their families, health, finances, and from every direction. In the midst of all that heavy attack, Peter was kept in prison but the scripture says in Acts 12:5 ‘but prayer.’

Prayer Is The Thing That Can Take Heavy Attack And Move It Back

Prayer is the thing that can take heavy attack and move it back. While under heavy attack, we have the ability to increase and not be defeated by lack. In the midst of any attack that may happen this year we have an instrument that will keep us in perfect safety, which is prayer. People may be attacked from every direction, but they have something that will allow them to be perfectly delivered from all harm and that is prayer.

In Acts 12:5 it says that there was much prayer without ceasing of the church unto God.   It is necessary this year for people to become skillful in prayer. There are many formats and types of prayer. In this scripture, a look should let us look at the specific type of prayer this was.  This type of prayer is what brings light to open the door.

Warfare Prayer

There are many different types of prayer. There are: the prayer of consecration, the prayer of committal, the prayer of agreement, the prayer of faith, prayer of supplication, and many other types of prayer.   With many different kinds of prayer, how does a person know the type of prayer that one needs to pray in the right moment? It will be shared with the individual by the leading of the Holy Spirit.

Let us take an expanded look of the prayer in Acts 12:5 through the scripture in Isaiah 62: 6-7.  “6I have set watchmen upon thy walls, O Jerusalem, which shall never hold their peace day nor night: ye that make mention of the LORD, keep not silence,  7 And give him no rest, till he establish, and till he make Jerusalem a praise in the earth.”  In verse 6, we see it talking about watchmen. What do watchman refer to?  Watchmen are people in the military that stand on the tower in order to look for the enemy.  So, watchmen is letting us know this is about warfare. This is warfare prayer.

In Isaiah 62: 6-7, this is talking about a type of warfare prayer.  Is it necessary for soldiers to sometime have to fight in the night, or during the day, or in the cold, or in the heat? Yes, it is necessary for them to fight in such conditions. It is necessary for soldiers to be prepared to fight at any moment.

Do not be surprised this year to hear people who get a leading in there heart from the Lord instructing them to begin praying for somebody in the most unsuspecting times.  Holy Spirit may wake you up in the middle of the night to lead you to pray for someone. If the Lord places someone in your heart for you to pray for, in the middle of the night after waking you up, then get up and to begin to pray for them.

How should we begin to pray?  We begin to pray what the Word says to that situation. We should pray the scripture coming up in our heart for that situation.  Next, begin speaking out loud what the Holy Spirit is putting in your heart to speak over that person.

After this, begin to thank the Lord for the victory that the person now has. The scripture says in Isaiah 62:7 to give him no rest. The expression here of no rest is referring to silence. The Lord saying in verse 6 to not be silent and then he says it again in verse 7 to not be silent. It is critically important for people to continue to say the victorious words they have received in their heart.

Praise Is In Warfare Prayer

In Isaiah 62:7, it  says to continue to pray until Jerusalem becomes a praise. This is warfare prayer. It is important to note that in the midst of warfare prayer is thanksgiving, praise, and worship.  In our prayer, which includes warfare prayer, it is necessary to speak the language of love. Again, the language of love is thanksgiving, praise, and worship according to Hebrews 13.

Last year, when tropical storm Florence came through, the Holy Spirit begin to minister to pray,  say, and then to praise and worship. As the Holy Spirit began leading, I would begin speaking the Word. Next, there would be a squall and the rains could be heard in a mighty downpour.   After that, Holy Spirit began to minister a prophetic song and I would begin to sing a prophetic song, which is praise and worship. The prophetic song is a miracle. As that song came into the earth out of the Spirit realm it began change things in the earth with the rains coming to a drizzle. It was very discernable to hear them begin to weaken.

This Year Peter Is Going Free From Prison Through Prayer

This year Peter is going free from prison through warfare prayer. I don’t know what your Peter is.  It may be a person, or finances, or sickness in your body, but I do know this year your Peter is going free from prison because of your warfare prayer. This type of prayer is determined, committed, and will not quit.

Ephesians is a book of authority that God has given to set us free.  In Ephesians chapter 6, the outline of that chapter tells us something very unique about prayer. Notice, in Ephesians he begins to speak in the first part of the chapter about how children should obey their parents and servants should obey their masters. He begins to minister and teach on relationships. Well, what does that have to do with anything?

In Ephesians 6:18, he begins talking about praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit and watching their unto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints. This chapter teaches us how to engage in skillful prayer.

Submission, Armor Of God, And Prayer

In Chapter 6 he talks about three things, which are relationships, the whole armor of God, and prayer.   In the first part of the chapter he begins talking about how children should obey their parents and servants should obey their masters. It speaks to the order of relationships. In verses 1-9 it also brings light to the order and submission required within relationships.  It is very plainly teaching on submission.

The Apostle Paul is showing us how to engage effectively in warfare prayer. He is giving us the order that is necessary to be able to be effective and skillful in warfare prayer. The first thing necessary to be skillful in warfare prayer is to be dressed first in submission.  For a person to be successful in their private prayer time, they are going to be submitted in the public life. A person comes into submission by fully yielding to their bosses, governmental and civil leaders, teachers, and spiritual leaders.

Submit To God And Satan Must Submit To You

It’s necessary to be submitted to all those who are in authority over you. The scripture says to submit therefore to God, resist the devil and he will flee from you. If you’re not submitted to God then Satan doesn’t have to submit to you.  This can explain why much previous prayer has not been answered. However, when you submit to God then Satan must submit to you. The way one is submitted to God is by the way one is submitted to those who are in authority over them.

Once a person has submitted completely then they are ready to put on the armor of God. All of the armor of God that is to be used in prayer is important. However, the scripture says in Ephesians 6: 16 ‘above all, taking the shield of faith.’  This verse of scripture highlights that the shield of faith is above all. In Acts 12:5, Peter was sleeping between the two soldiers, which is a reflection that he is in faith. Peter is coming up over those soldiers and soon leaving them behind.

So, once a person comes into submission then they’re ready to put God’s armor on.  In Ephesians 6:12, the scripture says we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, etc…,  which is about spiritual warfare. So, after the person has come into submission and then put God’s armor on, at last the person is ready to pray.

One last important note about wearing God’s armor. It is important to observe that all of the armor covers the front portion of the person wearing it. The back of the person is completely uncovered. The reason for this is because it is necessary to go forward in warfare prayer and not go backwards.  Meaning, that when someone starts in warfare prayer, they must not quit. A person cannot be distracted by anything when they are in the midst of warfare prayer.

Stay With It

It is necessary in warfare prayer for a person to stay with it no matter what. Other people are to be set free as a result of the warfare prayer that you engage for them. The armor of God covers the front of the soldier and they are expected to go forward and not quit. A beautiful example of this is Lot’s wife when they were leaving Sodom and Gomorrah. While leaving Sodom and Gomorrah, she continued to look back. As she looks back, she turns into a pillar of salt. This is the same thing that happened to everyone in Sodom and Gomorrah. They all turned to salt in  Sodom and Gomorrah because this is where the Dead Sea originated.

Lot’s wife did not judge herself willingly while leaving Sodom and Gomorrah.  So, she became judged. Lot’s wife long and gazed upon Sodom and Gomorrah desiring to go back there.. She did not willfully desire to leave.  As a result of her heart still being in Sodom and Gomorrah even though her body was away from it, she was judged with the people of Sodom and Gomorrah. She did not judge herself and willfully desire to leave and because of this she she was judged with the people of Sodom and Gomorrah as a result of quitting in her heart, turning around looking back, and longing for those sinful cities.

Prayer And Supplication

In Ephesians 6:18, the scripture speaks of prayer and supplication. Prayer in this verse is referring to exchange, which is communing with the Father God. However, this word prayer also includes praise and worship.  Supplication is referring to a need and an urgent heartfelt desire. Supplication is also defined here as leading by the Spirit.

Supplication is sensing an urgent need that is coming in your heart that needs to addressed. This may be a person who is in need of prayer and you begin to pray for them.  The Holy Spirit will begin to place a person in your heart and as He do He is expecting you to begin to pray for them. By chance should a person not pray for them, it closes the door for the Holy Spirit to have any way to help the person who is in need to be free.

All Soldiers All Areas

When it’s time to engage in war it requires all soldiers and all areas of the military. Wars are not won by the infantry units only. They are not won by the artillery units only. It is not only the Special Forces units that win the war. Nor, wars are not won by the Air Force or Navy only. Wars are won by combined efforts of all soldiers in all areas of the military.

This translates into warfare prayer this way. The Holy Spirit will begin ministering for one person to administer artillery warfare prayer while another person is to administer infantry warfare prayer. Next, there will be a person to be able to minister the Air Force Warfare Prayer component and so on. It is necessary that when the Lord gives you something such as that in your heart to not put it down but to act on it.

The Apostle Paul in Ephesians 6:18 shares how to pray and one of the last things that he does is to begin to teach about praying for him being a spiritual leader. He has come full circle in sharing the necessity to pray for those in authority.  When we begin to pray for our spiritual authorities and spiritual leaders it opens the door for us to be able to operate in their spiritual authority.

As people prayed for the Apostle Paul, with he being their Authority, it opened the door for the miracles and other spiritual gifting’s that he operated in to be able to operate in their life. It was the urgent and fervent prayer of the church in warfare prayer that delivered Peter from prison by providing the light to the open door.
