Glory

Glory & Wonder

“16Let thy work appear unto thy servants, and thy glory unto their children. 17And let the beauty of the LORD our God be upon us: and establish thou the work of our hands upon us; yea, the work of our hands establish thou it.” (Psalm 90: 16-17 KJV)

“16 Your work [the signs of Your power] be revealed to Your servants And Your [glorious] majesty to their children. 17 And let the [gracious] favor of the Lord our God be on us; Confirm for us the work of our hands—Yes, confirm the work of our hands. (Psalm 90: 16-17 Amplified Bible)

On February 17th 2019, the glory of God manifested through a wonder.  In an effort to chronicle and document this amazing wonder that God manifested with time be taken on February 24th, 2019 during the worship service to audio record the testimonies of this amazing event.  In addition, there was a portion of the service used to share the discernment of what these things mean. Lastly, there was teaching from scripture on God’s glory as it relates to walking in love, not mishandling the glory, taking precautions to enter the glory safely, and the progressions of the glory.  At the end of the teaching, the Holy Spirit manifested another miracle sign & wonder through a prophetic song about the glory.

Testimonies

What follows are paraphrased and collected testimonies of the people who experienced this miracle.  The short audio testimonies can be heard in the Great Smyrna Baptist Church audio section in the Glory audio series at the first part of the service.  What follows are their report

Glenn Floyd

Glenn Floyd said that when he entered into the office area in the back of Great Smyrna Baptist Church that he began to smell a burning smell. He then left the area to go get a second opinion to see if Judy Floyd smelled it as well. He asked if she could smell it as well and she said that she could. Glenn shared that he did smell the burnt smell before turning the lights on but once he turned the lights on the smell became stronger only in that area.  He shared that the smell was like some burnt electrical smell.

Vickie Madden

Vickie Madden was in her Sunday School classroom and received a message to asking to come downstairs. Glenn asked if Vickie smelled it as well? She confirmed that she did smell something. She explained the smell electrical burnt smell, but at times it had a sweet smell to it.

Doris Madden

A question was asked of Doris Madden. The question was during the Wednesday night February 20th praise report session who was the person that initiated the praise report with regards to what happened Sunday in the office area relating to the smell. She answered that it was Judy Floyd who began to share a praise report and open the discussion as far as what happened Sunday with relation to the smell.

Judy Floyd

Judy Floyd shared her testimony as to what she experienced. Glenn went to her classroom to ask her if she would come to the office area in an effort to find out if she smelled something.   She went back to the office area and confirmed that she did smell something. Judy asked Glenn if it could be the gas from the furnace as to what they were smelling? Glenn said no because of the type of system has it wouldn’t smell like that. [Notation: Glenn Floyd has years of experience in heating and air conditioning and presently owns a very successful business that includes heating and air conditioning installation, repair, as well as a variety of other similar residential and commercial services.

Judy Floyd shared on Wednesday night that after service on Sunday and before Wednesday that she and Glenn were discussing the smell. It came out of a Judy’s heart that the smell could have been a manifestation of the glory of God. She next shared that Glenn asked the question that if it were the glory of God wouldn’t it have been a sweet smell? Judy’s response to that was not necessarily. Then resharing her Wednesday night testimony, she began to explain that Glenn said to her that something began to happen to him in church during that February 17th, 2019 service at the time of the worship hour. He explained that something happened to his leg.  Judy shared that he may have had a blood clot and it was healed.

Glenn Floyd Leg Healed

To confirm that something did happen with respect to healing Glenn’s leg, he was asked about this last statement. Glenn responded that while the pastor was preaching and ministering and speaking on healing that something happened to his leg. Glenn said it didn’t feel as though his leg were cramping or bones popping or something simple like that. He explained that something was moving in his leg. In his heart, he said that he felt as though he were being cleansed.

Judy Floyd expanded something she said Wednesday night and introduced a seed of revelation of what at least some of this means.  She said that she thought this was special because it was happening in that area because it happened in the area where the ministry’s finances are accounted, reconciled, and recorded.

Discernment

Pastor Steve Johnson added a few simple things that he perceived and experienced when he was in that back office area while the glory of God was manifesting. Pastor Steve explained and provided discernment to the things that happened on that day as revealed by Holy Spirit.  Pastor Steve explained that he did smell something burning, but he also had another experience. Pastor Steve explained that what he smelled was a deep balmy burnt smell. What it reminded him of was similar to the burning of frankincense. Frankincense was burned on the altar as required by the Lord in the temple. Frankincense has many uses and it is symbolic of many things, but one of the things that it is symbolic of is judgment. Pastor Steve also explained that he smelled the smell but he also saw something evidently in the spirit since no one else reported it.

Pastor Steve explained that he saw the glory, which looked like a haze or light cloud toward the ceiling. In the old testament when the children of Israel left Egypt, they were led buy a fire by night and a cloud by day, which was the Lord’s Glory. He also shared that one of the first things Pastor Steve asked for during that February 17th service was prayer. The specific reason why he said that he requested prayer was because he said he began to feel the glory of God coming on him and it’s heaviness.

The place in which people were smelling the glory in Great Smyrna church would be in the basic same location as if the temples as laid out in Jerusalem in the holy of holies.  Basically, the place where people were smelling this aroma would have been in the holy of holies in the temple. With that being said, frankincense and other materials were required to be burnt in those places.

In the temple, the high priest went in once a year to the holy of holies.   The high priest would go in to that place while wearing garments that had bells on them. Also, there was a rope that was tied around the priests in the event that the priest who were outside of the holy of holies did not hear the bells ringing on the high priest garment so that could take the rope to pull the high priest out because he was dead. The reason why the high priest died was because if he had not taken the precautions necessary to enter into the most holy place where God’s glory resides he would die.

From Glenn Floyd’s testimony, it can be seen that when the glory enter that people can become healed instantly.   However; it is important to understand that the glory can be as destructive of sin as it is constructive to provide healing and prosperity.  The glor is to not be mishandled.

Light To The Open Door

It was shared in Glenn Floyd’s testimony that he smelled the smell before he turned on the light but once he turned on the lights the smell increase. This year is the year light to the open door. After the light was turned on the scent became stronger. Regardless of where Glenn was standing in that area, he had to be standing in a doorway.

Judy Floyd shared that she thought the scent had something to do with the prosperity of the ministry.  In the area where the smell was lingering, there are three doorways. One of the doorways that is in that area is the place where finances are reconciled and it can represent a door to prosperity.

Another doorway that needs to be recognized is the back door. Should a person with an affliction or disease in their body come to Great Smyrna in a wheelchair, they will have to use the wheelchair ramp and they’ll come into the back door of the church. The back door to Great Smyrna is in the same area as to where the glory manifested and the symbolic doorway of prosperity is located.  This back door can symbolic of the door of healing. As the back door to the church symbolizes a doorway to healing where people come into the church to be healed of any disease, there is yet one third door.

The third door way, which was in the same area that the glory manifested, leads into the water baptistry. There are many reasons for people to be water baptized. One of the main reasons is because they have accepted Jesus Christ as Lord and savior of their life. Water baptism reflects a cleansing of what’s happened in their heart to Jesus.  It reflects that they received eternal life. This last doorway is symbolic and represents the doorway to eternal life.

Prosperity Manifested

The day the glory manifested it has been recorded that Glenn Floyd testified of the miracle healing that took place in his body.  However that is not all that resulted from the February 17th glory manifesting. On February 18th, 2019, the very next day Great Smyrna received its 501(c) 3 status. This is significant as this will open the door for Great Smyrna to have more prosperity. It’s almost as if the Lord has written us a blank check.

The 501(c)3 came supernaturally is what is so amazing. The church did not have to lift a finger to write and put together any necessary paperwork as required by the Internal Revenue Service. There was no money required to submit for this documentation to be completed. With respect to time, this process could have taken more that several months to even possibly a year or more.  The Lord supernaturally translated this to Great Smyrna by-passing steps and stages in no time as He shared through a prophetic Word some years ago.

The door of prosperity is open and it’s time to walk through. The world as Great Smyrna knows it has changed forever.

To Experience The Glory

The first thing to be in place for a church to experience the glory is a commitment to love. The Word of the Lord for the year 2018 was ‘love opens the way.’ The way to what? The way to the glory, which is God’s heaviest and weightiest good. The Lord’s idea for his church to study the glory is in Ephesians chapter 5: 25-27.

“25 Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church, and gave himself for it; 26 That he might sanctify and cleanse it with the washing of water by the word, 27 That he might present it to himself a glorious church, not having spot, or wrinkle, or any such thing; but that it should be holy and without blemish.”

In verse 26 it talks about this sanctification. This sanctification is what the Lord was leading His people into in 2018. It had to deal with cleansing. The Lord began leading us to use and minister skillfully in the language of love through our thanksgiving, praise, and worship in such a way that it would begin to cleanse us our spirits so that we could come into His glory more.

Take Precaution To Enter The Glory

It is necessary to take precaution to enter into the glory. The glory is not something to be played with or mishandled.  It is critically important for the church to love one another as Jesus loved the church for the glory to be able to minister.  What allows his glory to be able to manifest is God’s love.

The glory of God is very powerful, and we must take precaution to enter His glory.  The glory of God destroys sin and evil, including disobedience. We cannot “modernize” God’s instructions and still see results.  Uzzah touched the Ark of the Covenant, and he died. God didn’t allow man to disobey His command and touch His glory (2 Samuel 6:6-7).   Sin is transgression against God and His way.  God began to dwell with the children of Israel in the Tabernacle.  The High Priest could go into the Holy of Holies of the Tabernacle one day a year—with great precaution.   On the bottom of the High Priest’s robe were bells, so others could hear him moving around in the Holy of Holies. When they didn’t hear the bells, they might have to drag the priest’s dead body out, because he didn’t take the proper precaution.  The precaution for us to enter the glory of God is to be covered by the blood of Jesus.

In the New Testament, we see many occasions of the glory of God in operation, from which we can learn.  If a person came within Peter’s shadow he or she was healed, because the glory of God was on Peter, and it was very powerful.  It wasn’t Peter or the shadow that had the power, it was the proximity of the power of the glory. Ananias and Sapphira lied to God, and the glory was so strong that when the glory illuminated their deception, they died (Acts 5:1-10).  We haven’t had a high degree of the presence of the glory of God in our churches,  because the glory brings the power of judgment. The blood of Jesus and the love of God are two things necessary to have in working with the glory.

Glory In Stages

The glory of God is the presence of God manifested. Ezekiel gave the account of when God’s glory left the Temple. When Jesus came to the earth, He exhibited the glory of God in miracles, especially His resurrection from the dead. Jesus is the Head, and we are the Body of Christ on the earth.

The glory of God is the presence of God manifested. God was separated from man because it was too dangerous for the glory to come near man.  God wanted a relationship with His man. God started the process with a meeting with Moses at the burning bush. Then, God got closer when He put His presence on Mount Sinai.  God could only be in a sinless environment, so He gave instructions to build a tabernacle so that He could dwell with His people (Exodus 35-40). Years later, a permanent Temple was built, and the glory of the Lord moved into the Holy of Holies (2 Chronicles 5).  At that Temple, the smoke of the altar, the glory, the fire and the cloud were seen continually over the building. As long as the people lived according to God’s instructions, the glory could be seen from over the mercy seat over the Ark of the Presence. The Temple could not be destroyed as long as the glory was there.

Ezekiel gave the account of when God’s glory left the Temple.  The throne of God came to Jerusalem to escort the glory to heaven (Ezekiel 1).  This move happened in stages. The glory moved from the Holy of Holies to the courts, then moved above the city of Jerusalem, then moved over from Mount Moriah to above the Mount of  Olives, and finally ascended to heaven. Sadly, the people didn’t know if they would ever have contact with God again. After 70 years of captivity, the children of Israel came back and rebuilt Jerusalem and the Temple, but the glory of God did not return to the new Temple.

The young rejoiced to have a place to worship God, but those who remembered the original Temple were sad because the new Temple was not as glorious and did not have God’s glory.

Haggai comforted them and said there was a time coming that the glory would return to the Temple in the form of the Messiah (Haggai 2:7-9).  Jesus, as the only begotten of the Father, had a greater glory than the pillar of cloud and the pillar of fire.

Jesus is the Head, and we are the Body of Christ on the earth (Ephesians 5:30).  We now have a certain glory. There is a further glorification that is coming to the Church that we will get by degrees or steps.  We are growing from glory to glory (2 Corinthians 3:18). It is imperative that we commit to God’s love.
